Purified terephthalic
acid is a major raw material in the manufacture of polyester
polymer. There has been a growth in demand for PTA,
particularly in Asia, driven by increasing end usages
of polyesters in apparel, packaging and industrial applications.
To ensure consistently high
product quality, Indorama Petrochem has invested in
advanced quality control systems and equipment from
leading global manufacturers. The company's automated
QA systems include advanced process control (APC) and
computer integrated manufacturing (CIM), which keeps
a constant watch over product quality and takes real-time
corrective actions in event of any process deviations.
Vital tests and analysis are also conducted offline
with advanced instruments to ensure 100 per cent compliance.
Indorama Petrochem supplies PTA in
the following packaged forms:
Bags: : PTA is supplied
in PP woven bags of 1.1/1.2 MT each. These bags have
been specially designed to sustain the long voyages
through the movement of PTA by road, rail or ship. These
bags facilitate ease of handling and have negligible
chance of contamination or bursting.
For exports shipments 20 such
bags are transported in a 20 ft container. Break-bulk
cargos of large shipment are also accepted for major
break-bulk ports.
Sea bulk: PTA can be supplied
in 20 ft mild steel ISO lined container (TEU). This
container is delivered completely lined on the inside
with a one-trip polyethylene liner. In order to support
the liner and to discharge, a bulkhead is fitted behind
the doors of the TEU.
Hopper truck: Hooper trucks
with aluminium bodies are used for local deliveries.
These trucks can carry up to 25 mt.
