PET Resin

Indorama started its PET resin production in 1995 with an annual capacity of 63,000 tons. This was the first large-scale plant dedicated to bottle grade PET resin in the ASEAN region. The polymerisation technology in this plant is from DuPont, USA and the solid stating technology is from Sinco, Italy. Today, through successful de-bottlenecking, the polymerisation capacity has increased to 100,000 tons per annum.

Our brand Ramapet meets the requirement of the EC directives 90/128/EEC (as amended up to October 21 1998) and the UK statutory instruments 1376 (1998). Ramapet is also in compliance with applicable rules of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), title 21 Part 177.1630 (as amended up to April 1 1999) paragraph polythene phthalate polymers.

All the major producers of the carbonated soft drinks and mineral water worldwide use Ramapet today. Ramapet is recognised as a premium brand in the EEC, NAFTA, Australia and ASEAN.

Ramapet can be used for the following applications:
BOFET film for flexible packing
Carbonated soft drinks (CSD)
Edible oils and other general purpose PET water bottles
Mineral water and drinking water (sparkling and still)
Refillable containers for CSD
Thick and thin A-PET sheet

Some of Indorama's new innovations include PET resins for hot fill containers and beer containers and enhanced performance resins.
