The polyester
division commenced operations in 1991 and is today one
of Indonesia's largest polyester producers with an annual
production capacity of 280,000 metric tons of polyester
filament yarns, polyester staple fiber, polyester chips
and PET bottle grade resins. The division also has the
largest and most-modern texturiser in the country. The
polyester division employs state-of-the-art technologies
from the best global technology and equipment suppliers
including DuPont (USA), Zimmer & Barmag (Germany),
Toyobo, Teijin Seiki & Murata (Japan).
Indorama Synthetics is the only
company in Indonesia having a completely computerised
and automated polyester yarn package handling and testing
system that matches standards set by DuPont at their
latest plant in the USA.
In addition to standard yarns, the polyester division
manufactures a wide variety of differentiated and customised
products. Among them are high tenacity, differential
shrinkage, micro-filament, cationic, stretch, and specially
tailored products. The principal export markets for
the polyester textile products are the developed nations
of the world.
