MediSafe Technologies employs cutting-edge
technology to manufacture premium products that are
dependable and safe. MediSafe Technologies leads the
market in minimising the risk of latex allergy reactions
and sensitivity from rubber latex gloves. MediSafe's
technological skill to produce medical gloves is reflected
in its natural rubber gloves being rated as an industry
benchmark for low residual protein and powder levels.
The company follows several proprietary technological
processes to ensure consistent quality and safety.
Consistent source of latex
MediSafe has the advantage of a consistent source of
plantation latex. The raw latex centrifuged for making
gloves is from unchanging rubber plantation sources.
This allows MediSafe to optimise elimination of extractable
allergenic proteins. MediSafe's disposable gloves are
therefore very low in protein levels, a critical attribute
in reducing the risk of latex allergy, something that
few competing latex glove manufacturers can match.
Specific maturation of latex
Experiments at MediSafe's in-house rubber latex processing
facility have led to the discovery that latex matured
for a specific period after centrifuging allows optimal
extraction of allergenic proteins. This knowledge has
helped MediSafe produce pre-powdered natural rubber
latex gloves with one of the lowest extractable proteins
levels in the industry.
In-house natural rubber latex concentrating
facility
As a manufacturer of natural rubber latex medical gloves
and examination gloves, an in-house latex concentrating
facility allows MediSafe to produce superior products.
MediSafe manufactures its latex especially for medical
gloves by configuring the centrifuging process to the
specific requirement of removing water-soluble allergenic
proteins.
Making powder-free gloves on-line
MediSafe's ability to manufacture powder-free gloves
on-line guarantees high performance, consistent and
safe medical gloves. This is a technologically advanced
manufacturing process that involves lining the latex
glove with a supple polymer coating instead of chlorinating
the glove to allow donning. This method is more hygienic
and eco-friendly.
Patented polychloroprene (neoprene)
formulation
MediSafe has invented a unique neoprene glove that has
the fit feel and comfort of natural latex gloves and
retains the advantages of synthetic rubber. Back in
the mid-1990s when demand for synthetic rubber gloves
began rising due to severe allergenic reactions to residual
natural rubber proteins in gloves, MediSafe developed
a formulation for polychloroprene rubber for thin-walled
medical gloves suitable for continuous-dipping processes.
This invention was granted a US patent in 1999.
Research and development
MediSafe's research and development wing is engaged
in the constant pursuit of developing superior gloves
that ensure safety and comfort to users and improve
barrier integrity.
