PT Indorama Synthetics Tbk, the flagship company of the Indonesia based Indorama Group has embarked upon a major expansion and modernisation program for its existing spun yarn facility, located at Purwakarta, Indonesia

The Group is in this business for more than 30 years with strong presence in the domestic and international markets. Post-quota scenario has offered enormous challenges and opportunities to the Indonesian textile industry and the Group plans to to consolidate its position further in the spun yarn industry.

The expansion envisages setting up of two state of the art mills using latest technology from the leading equipment manufacturers in the world. The expansion is expected to be completed by 2008.

The expansion would lead to a capacity increase of 40% from its existing level at the factory, located at Purwakarta, Indonesia.

This follows the Group's recently concluded acquisition of a large spinning facility in Egypt.
